New Taxi Flagdown Rate

Even with the improvements in transportation and traffic done over the years, we are still highly reliant on the use of taxis. So news of the new approved taxi flagdown rate is causing a buzz online.

Last December 30, news came out that the LTFRB has approved an increase in the taxi flagdown rate from Php30.00 to Php40.00, and a per 300meters charge of Php3.50.

The estimated implementation date for this is around January 15th. Last December, DOTC released a hotline to report abusive taxi drivers who reject would-be passengers based on their location or for whatever reason. The text hotline numbers were Globe 0917-2470-385 and Smart 0919-2227-462, and reporting is done by sending the body number and plate number of the taxi. Perhaps we can also use this to report abusive taxi drivers using the new flagdown rate  before implementation?
